Olivewood (Olea europaea) is a dense, durable hardwood native to the Mediterranean region, including parts of southern Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
The wood has a fine, even texture and an impressive appearance, with colors ranging from golden yellow to dark brown, often with unique dark streaks and swirling grain patterns. Olive wood is highly valued for its strength. It has a density of around 800–900 kg/m³, making it resistant to mechanical wear and decay. It has a smooth finish, an elegant appearance, and good workability. It is highly valued for both functional and artistic uses.
